VOAD provides coordination and support among member organizations, ensuring that resources are distributed efficiently and that communities receive the aid they need, from immediate relief to long-term recovery.

Is VOAD a government agency?

No, VOAD is not a government agency. It’s a nonprofit organization that works closely with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as other nonprofit and faith-based organizations.

How does VOAD differ from other disaster relief organizations?

VOAD acts as a coordinating body, bringing organizations together to avoid duplication of efforts and ensure a comprehensive response. It focuses on collaboration, communication, and efficiency.

Donating to VOAD

How can I donate to support VOAD’s efforts?

VOAD does not accept donations. However, you can donate to MEMBERS by clicking on their website links on the Members page of this website. The best way to make an impact in the lives of survivors is by donating cash to National VOAD members or local response agencies.

Are my donations tax-deductible?

Yes, VOAD is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

 

Can I donate specific supplies instead of money?

In-kind donations may be accepted depending on current needs. Please contact us to find out what supplies are needed most during specific disaster responses.

How can I volunteer with VOAD?

Do I need prior experience to volunteer?
